WEATHER
The winter season lasts for about 3.5 months from late November to early March with an average temperature below 35°F. The warmest months are early June to mid September. With an average high of 68°F.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
December and January are the best time to hit the slopes. Summer tends to be the busiest time of year and is ideal for white water rafting, climbing, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and kayaking.
LAY OF THE LAND
While the town is officially called Jackson, “The Hole” is actually the valley and it’s about 13 miles wide by 48 miles long and is elevated around 6,500 feet. The Hole’s western side is walled off by the Teton Range. Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Lake take up the northwestern side of the town.
Wilson is a small town about 7 miles from Jackson. It’s a rustic city at the eastern base of the Teton Pass. It’s friendly and quaint, known for their prestigious real estate, backcountry ski activities in the winter, and mountain biking in the summer.
Teton Village is located about 12 miles from Jackson and is known for its ski slopes, coffee shops, boutiques, ski bars, and live music events.
Moose is a small community located in Grand Teton National Park. Historically focused on ranching and farming, Moose has adapted to the tourist entertainment industry and now has shops and restaurants.
