I replaced button-ups for knit polos on clients long before staying-at-home meant turning all of our dress clothes in for loungewear. They’re more elegant than a t-shirt but more comfortable than a button-down. They sit well. They dont pull at the chest and never need tailoring. They look great on their own, under a bomber, or even under a suit. They just might be the most versatile item in your closet.
While short sleeved polos show off all that effort you’ve been putting in at the gym, a long-sleeve tugged up to the elbow with a nice watch is all you’ll need to look the part.
You can leave it open (throw a little chain under there) or pull an air-tie look by buttoning it up to the top. It works with jeans & joggers as well as with trousers. Just don’t make the mistake of confusing your knits for your cotton pique polos. You can go ahead and leave those right in your golf locker.
Here are a few my favorites from personal experience. My tried-and-trues from years of making handsome men look even more handsome—because a good knit polo will do just that.
