Twenty years ago, Adriano Goldschmeid founded premium denim and knitwear brand, AG Jeans, in Los Angeles. A consistent innovator, AG established the first vertically operated denim manufacturing on the West Coast focused on sustainable design. Now, AG has launched several new initiatives to take the company into its next decade including Made in Italy and Basic Essentials.
To celebrate AG’s 20th anniversary, we’ve partnered with the brand to highlight its uniquely Southern California take on luxury Italian tailoring and elevated essentials. To set the scene, the collab was shot at George Ehling’s Mosaic House.
Curated and styled by Ilaria, we present you our favorite AG looks to take you into the holiday season.
Capturing the sartorial styling of traditional tailored garments—Made in Italy remasters iconic designs, melding the refined AG identity with exquisite Italian craftsmanship.
Tucked away in the Hollywood hills, the home combines the mosaic work found in ancient Roman and Byzantine buildings with the bohemian mood so intrinsic to Los Angeles. Using discarded tile, Ehling created elaborate mosaics over a 50-year period, transforming his home into a masterpiece of pattern and illusion, making for the perfect setting to showcase the collection. The handwork of cutting and repurposing tile and other found materials, combined with cement statuary work that George picked up from his time on Hollywood studio sets, is testimony to the creativity and collaboration integral to the Los Angeles design world.
Similarly, AG has brought together its authentic denim focus rooted in craftsmanship, fit, and fabric innovation with rich Italian fabrics and classic tailoring for a uniquely West Coast, elevated, rock and roll sensibility.
Much like AG, Ehling’s goal is always “to improve the pattern, to find another way to express himself in endless variation.”

Earlier this year, AG launched Basic Essentials with jersey knits utilizing S-twist and Z-twist yarns, resulting in durable, soft, wardrobe essentials that resist seam torquing, shrinking, and wrinkling wash after wash and wear after wear.
The collection is environmentally friendly, capitalizing on the brand’s significant investments in ozone technology, laser finishing, solar energy, and most recently water recycling.
