Dubbed king of the X games halfpipe, Scotty James is a three time snowboarding world champion with two Olympic medals and seven X Games medals (only the recently retired Shaun White has more X Games men’s snowboard halfpipe titles with eight). The Aussie, who at just 15 earned the title of youngest Winter Olympian in over 50 years when he made his debut at the Vancouver Games in 2010—not to mention being the youngest Australian to ever compete in the Winter Olympics—had a stellar 2022, having secured his Silver medal at the Beijing Olympics and a Gold medal at the X Games in Aspen.
Below, we got him to spill on some of his favorite things: from the best slope and most memorable career highlight to his go-to gear (unsurprisingly, his signature red boxing gloves are completely sold out), apres-ski style, and pre-slopes grooming routine.
